This opportunity is for an experienced school social worker to provide support to a middle school caseload of 30 students. The assignment runs from September 3 to October 13 and requires a 40-hour workweek at one school site in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is ideal for professionals with strong skills in student advocacy, counseling, and collaboration with educational teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan School Social Worker certification (310) and LARA approval
- Experience working with middle school-aged students
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel to one school site as required
- Candidates open to virtual work may be considered if onsite availability is limited
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students social and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records on student progress and services provided
- Address behavioral issues and provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Facilitate connections to community resources to support student needs
