Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (S)
  • Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting
  • Proficient in Braille and assistive technology
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

Location:Joliet, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine students' visual needs and learning styles.
  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to create and implement IEPs.
  • Provide ongoing support and training for staff regarding visual impairment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and instructional plans.
