A California school district is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time, direct hire position supporting Kindergarten and 1st grade students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This opportunity is available immediately and will continue through the end of the 2024-2025 school year. The district is prepared to move forward quickly with interviews for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to K1 students in an SDC classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
- Adapt and modify curriculum to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to foster a cohesive learning environment
- Offer academic, social, and emotional support to students to promote overall development
- Ensure pliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Special Education teaching credential required
- Experience working with students in Special Day Class settings is highly preferred
- Strong munication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, support staff, students, and families
