We’re seeking a Special Services Coach who shares our goal: to get all our scholars to and through college!
Who You Are:
You’re an experienced and dedicated Special Services Coach who’s passionate about supporting students with disabilities and empowering educators. You’re a proactive, detail-oriented leader with a strong understanding of special services (including Special Education and English Language Learners) and IEP development. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to ensuring both educators and families have the resources needed to support student success. Your ability to manage multiple processes, provide targeted professional development, and foster strong relationships makes you a great fit for this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Champion the district’s vision for special services by partnering with leadership to implement best practices that support all learners.
- Deliver professional development and provide feedback to general and special education teachers, collaborating to create differentiated, multisensory lessons that support their growth and meet diverse student needs.
- Support enrollment processes for students with disabilities to ensure smooth transitions and equitable access.
- Ensure compliance by monitoring the delivery of special education services and IEP processes.
- Lead special education team meetings to maintain clear communication, build strong collaboration, and support team success.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to discuss and review student progress monitoring in a collaborative, solutions-focused way.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in education or a related field
- Valid NYS certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD)
- Bonus: TESOL or Bilingual certification
- At least four years of experience teaching special education
- At least two years of experience managing special education services in an urban school setting
- Experience providing coaching and technical assistance to both peer and non-peer audiences
- Strong understanding of Next Generation/Common Core standards and evidence-based strategies for differentiating instruction for diverse learners
- Expertise in effective coaching techniques, with an emphasis on delivering constructive, actionable feedback
- Experience teaching English language learners is a plus!

The Special Services Coach salary ranges from $123,000 - $133,000. Salaries are determined based on years of relevant experience, certification, and education level.
