Advanced Manufacturing Training and Special Projects Instructor
CLTCC serves local communities with 5 campuses: Alexandria Main Campus, Huey P. Long Campus in
Winnfield, Ferriday Campus, Rod Brady Campus in Jena, and the Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus in
Cottonport. Additionally, CLTCC provides instruction for multiple correctional facilities. Position is
domiciled at the Main Campus in Alexandria.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Grant Development, this position represents the
collage for purposes of critical, high-end workforce instruction, outreach, promoting student enrollment,
student retention and management of workforce programs. This position will be primarily responsible
for industry-based training programs and the management of the students and prospective students in
these respective areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide instruction in the areas of Advanced Manufacturing.
• Work directly with Industry partners to create training programs based on their specific needs.
• Develop, manage, and deliver high-value fee-based training, and implement services primarily
focused on Louisiana manufactures with applications for the general business community with
customized curriculum.
• Maintain records, student data, and other documents related to advising, outreach, retention and
appropriate reports.
• Provide basic information to the public regarding college vocational/technical training programs,
Workforce Training and Education Programs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of collage policies, procedures, programs and articulation with
other colleges and surrounding state/private colleges and universities.
• Develop and manage relationships with business customers, third party consultants, state
agencies, community organizations and other stakeholders.
• Other assigned duties.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related field, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related field.
- Must be a high energy, outgoing individual with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must be able to interact effectively with students of various ages, abilities and ethnic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and overall computer related activities.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:
• Previous community college experience and knowledge of Career and Technical
programs in academia.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related field.
• Certifications in OSHA 10/30 in construction and/or industry, CPT or any other
manufacturing related certification.
Additional Requirements:
A valid Louisiana Driver’s License
Proof of motor vehicle insurance
