An educational opportunity is available for a knowledgeable professional specializing in instruction for students with visual impairments. This full-time, contract position spans the entire school year and supports a K-12 caseload in a dedicated school setting located in Overland Park, KS.
Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to integrate acmodations and resources. The role requires assessing student needs and progress, adapting materials, and utilizing specialized teaching strategies to promote academic and functional skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
- Experience working within K-12 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility concepts
- Ability to manage a full 25/26 student caseload effectively
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills
