Position Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Spanaway, WA for the 20252026 school year. In this full-time role, you will provide tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring they have the resources and skills necessary to succeed academically and independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)

  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff

  • Provide instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and daily living skills as needed

  • Assess and track student progress, modifying instruction to meet individual needs

  • Advocate for students access to general education and related services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field

  • Valid Washington State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

  • Experience working with visually impaired students preferred

  • Proficiency in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
