Summary

Chandler Jewish Preschool is currently hiring an assistant teacher for our toddler classroom. We are a small, Reggio Emilia inspired, Jewish preschool and committed to providing a high quality, nature and play-based program that views each child as unique and special. If you love children, are great with organization, have lots of energy, communicate well with co-workers and families, enjoy being in a warm and welcoming (non-corporate) environment, this may be the place for you!

We are looking for teachers who understand the importance of creating clear routines and calm spaces full of magic, connection, and learning each day. We all work hard, and we are seeking teachers who are ready to join us in truly meeting the needs of each student in our program.ways to scaffold their educational experiences. Teachers who would like to deepen their study of early childhood, play-based learning, and documentation skills are a good fit for our school.

Duties

  • Work in collaboration with lead teacher
  • Maintain safety in the classroom and in the outdoor learning space
  • Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and directors
  • Maintain reliable records
  • Arrive on time
  • Clean, sanitize, and organize classroom spaces
  • Change diapers and assist with toilet training
  • Maintain positive attitude
  • Be willing to work with all age groups in our school on occasion
  • Work with Quality First Coach and other professional development experiences



Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a family environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Flexibility to work with all age groups that our school serves.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A positive attitude and a sense of humor when faced with challenges.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
