About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support a small caseload of students in Banks County, GA for the upcoming school year. This is a part-time position providing direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a classroom setting.
Caseload:
- 3 students total
- 2 Elementary
- 1 Middle School
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support and accommodations to meet the unique communication and educational needs of deaf/hard of hearing students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to support inclusion and access to curriculum.
- Develop and implement IEP goals in alignment with students individual needs.
- Offer consultation and support to school staff on strategies for communication access and student engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or related field (required)
- Valid Georgia teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (required or eligible)
- Experience working with K8 students in a school setting (preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of assistive listening devices, ASL, and other communication modalities a plus
