Description:
The Middle School Math Teacher will implement the standards-aligned ASU Prep curriculum to deliver rigorous, student-centered instruction in math. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration in the classroom, while supporting the academic and personal growth of each student.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction aligned with Arizona State Standards and ASU Prep curriculum.
- Create inclusive, differentiated lessons to meet diverse learning profiles.
- Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.
- Participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration and schoolwide initiatives.
- Implement best practices in classroom management and culturally responsive teaching.
- Maintain timely grading and communication with students and families.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use data to inform instruction and improve student learning outcomes.
- Participate in all schoolwide professional development, meetings, and events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or related field (required).
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
- Certified to teach in Arizona or Highly Qualified under state guidelines.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Project-Based Learning (PBL) strongly preferred.
School-Wide Math Interventionist
Description:
The Math Interventionist will provide targeted, small-group and one-on-one math instruction for students performing below grade level. This role includes collaboration with classroom teachers, progress monitoring, and parent communication to ensure that all students are supported in achieving mathematical proficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and small-group intervention plans aligned with ASU Prep curriculum and MyPath.
- Collect and analyze student performance data to identify and monitor intervention needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design responsive instructional strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and intervention outcomes.
- Participate in IEP/504 team meetings and support compliance with accommodations.
- Coordinate math tutoring and academic supports across grade levels.
- Communicate effectively with families about student growth and support strategies.
- Provide professional development support to general education teachers on instructional strategies for struggling math learners.
- Promote a growth mindset and positive math culture schoolwide.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or a related field (required).
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
- Experience in math instruction and intervention, preferably in a middle or high school setting.
- Strong knowledge of math intervention models, progress monitoring tools, and instructional differentiation.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and blended learning models a plus.
