Qualifications:
- Active Special Education license in Pennsylvania; candidates with an emergency certification will also be considered.
- Previous experience as an Autism Specialist or working with students in self-contained classrooms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective in both classroom and interdisciplinary team settings.
- Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Experience supporting students transitioning between classrooms.
Location:Levittown, PA
Responsibilities:
- Spend half of the day working in a self-contained classroom with eight students, primarily focusing on those with autism and other special needs.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to support and facilitate the integration of students in various classrooms after being pushed-out.
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans aligned with IEP goals, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation as required by the school.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
