Summary

The Head Start Therapeutic Early Childhood Program prioritizes services for families and children who have been or are experiencing trauma that would benefit from comprehensive mental health and educational supportive services.

  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Status: Part Year
  • Pay $21.60 an hour



Duties

TheTherapeutic Classroom Leader, in collaboration with theTherapeutic Education LeaderandTherapeutic Child and Family Resilience Specialist, provides a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourage their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. TheTherapeutic Classroom Leaderplans and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum for enrolled children living in low-income, at-risk environments. They will ensure the provision of quality, comprehensive child development services including education, health, nutrition, parent involvement, and necessary family support services and referrals.The Therapeutic Classroom Leaderwill follow Head Start performance standards, policies and procedures, Childcare licensing requirements and City of Madison and NAEYC accreditation criteria (if applicable). They also build and maintain positive relationships with parents, children, coworkers and community partners.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Social Work, counseling, Early Childhood related preferred)
