Job DescriptionCommunity Care Development Network (CCDN) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time HBI Construction Instructor to lead and facilitate hands-on construction training for youth and adult learners enrolled in our Inspire Education Academy. The instructor will deliver HBI-certified curriculum in 8-week cycles and must become certified through the Home Builders Institute (HBI), a certification provided and covered by CCDN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct participants in HBI Construction Skills curriculum, including classroom and field-based training.
  • Deliver hands-on learning experiences that meet industry standards and align with HBI certification requirements.
  • Facilitate lessons 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday, during each 8-week training session.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages skill development, teamwork, and career readiness.
  • Assess and track participant progress, provide feedback, and submit required documentation.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training as required.
  • Collaborate with CCDN staff to ensure wraparound support services are aligned with participant needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or a skilled trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education or trade certifications preferred.
  • Must become certified as an HBI Instructor (training and certification provided by CCDN).
  • Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for mentoring and educating youth and adults in workforce readiness and skilled trades.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and community partners.

Schedule:

  • Classes are held in 8-week intervals throughout the year.
  • Additional hours may be required for training and certification.
