This full-time, contract position offers an opportunity to provide specialized instructional support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school programs in Wilmington, DE. Serving as part of a district-wide Deaf and Hard of Hearing Team, you will deliver individualized academic, municative, social, and recreational programming to Pre-K through 12th-grade students in an itinerant role visiting 27 schools throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 cross-curricular academic instruction tailored to students unique learning needs
- Support social and recreational skill development
- Implement munication-focused programming to enhance student engagement and accessibility
- Collaborate with district specialists and school staff to ensure prehensive support
- Manage a caseload of 20-30 students across various grade levels and settings
Qualifications:
- Delaware state licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education required
- Previous school-based experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is preferred but not mandatory
- Flexibility and adaptability to serve multiple school sites in an itinerant capacity
- Strong munication and collaboration skills for effective team engagement
Position Details:
- Contract term: August 18, 2025 June 12, 2026
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade
