Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the upcoming school year, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade in an alternative and transitional high school setting. This role offers an 11-month renewable contract that includes Extended School Year (ESY) services, with July off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction using both push-in and pull-out methods within a hybrid learning model
  • Manage a caseload in a high school alternative/transitional environment
  • Collaborate with staff and families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Implement evidence-based strategies aligned with Science of Reading training
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Active, full Indiana Special Education (IS) teaching license (substitute licenses not accepted)
  • Completed Science of Reading training
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education, preferably in a hybrid or alternative setting
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to student-centered education and differentiated instruction
