Position Summary:
The Staging Site Safety Consultant is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of disaster relief and operational staging sites managed or supported by EHS. This role involves assessing potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, training staff, and monitoring day-to-day operations to mitigate risk and maintain OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough safety assessments and hazard analyses at staging sites.
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication standards, and other relevant safety guidelines.
- Provide ongoing safety training and briefings for site personnel, including heavy equipment operators, forklift drivers, staging managers, and warehouse staff.
- Monitor daily site activities to identify and resolve safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, and training records.
- Collaborate with site management and emergency response teams to coordinate safety efforts and ensure readiness.
- Participate in the development and review of emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Advise on personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and usage.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending safety enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction, disaster relief, or industrial site safety consulting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication standards, and safety best practices.
- Certification in OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience conducting safety audits, training, and hazard assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and influence diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
- Proficiency with safety management software and reporting tools is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on uneven terrain.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear and manage personal protective equipment (PPE).
