The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking Adjunct Faculty for our Aviation Studies Program. The Aviation Adjunct Faculty will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a quality education in aviation studies. The faculty member will employ effective teaching practices to ensure student are equipped for success.
We seek a colleague who is team oriented and willing to assist the West Liberty University's Aviation Program and its mission to provide students an opportunity to get a commercial pilot's license. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Responsibilities:
Compiles, administers, evaluates, and grades student class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, assignments and handouts.
Maintains accurate student records to including grades, attendance, conduct, and other required records specific to the program.
Attends necessary faculty meetings, professional developments and trainings.
Stays entuned with industry developments by reading, collaborating and attending conferences.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's Degree Aeronautical Science, Aviation Management or related fields
- Preferred Valid FAA pilot's certification with endorsements including:
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
- Certified Flight Instructor
- Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
- At Least three years' experience in the Aviation Industry
Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Experience leading and managing others in an academic setting through transparency and collaboration.
