The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking Adjunct Faculty for our Aviation Studies Program. The Aviation Adjunct Faculty will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a quality education in aviation studies. The faculty member will employ effective teaching practices to ensure student are equipped for success.

We seek a colleague who is team oriented and willing to assist the West Liberty University's Aviation Program and its mission to provide students an opportunity to get a commercial pilot's license. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities:


  • Compiles, administers, evaluates, and grades student class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.

  • Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, assignments and handouts.

  • Maintains accurate student records to including grades, attendance, conduct, and other required records specific to the program.

  • Attends necessary faculty meetings, professional developments and trainings.

  • Stays entuned with industry developments by reading, collaborating and attending conferences.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree Aeronautical Science, Aviation Management or related fields
  • Preferred Valid FAA pilot's certification with endorsements including:
    • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
    • Certified Flight Instructor
    • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
  • At Least three years' experience in the Aviation Industry

Skills/Abilities:


  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

  • Experience leading and managing others in an academic setting through transparency and collaboration.
