An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary education (K-5) with a focus on language and articulation needs. This full-time position is based in Bridgeport, CT, within an elementary school setting, with the possibility of considering part-time candidates. The role supports students primarily with language-based learning challenges, including involvement in an autism support program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with language and articulation impairments.
- Collaborate with the autism program team to provide specialized support.
- Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with student goals and state standards.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- municate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff about student development.
Qualifications:
- Certified Special Education Teacher in Connecticut (CT SPED certification required).
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5), especially with language and articulation difficulties.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorder and strategies to support students in an autism program.
- Strong classroom management and munication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
