Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary education (K-5) with a focus on language and articulation needs. This full-time position is based in Bridgeport, CT, within an elementary school setting, with the possibility of considering part-time candidates. The role supports students primarily with language-based learning challenges, including involvement in an autism support program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with language and articulation impairments.
  • Collaborate with the autism program team to provide specialized support.
  • Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with student goals and state standards.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • municate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff about student development.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Special Education Teacher in Connecticut (CT SPED certification required).
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5), especially with language and articulation difficulties.
  • Familiarity with autism spectrum disorder and strategies to support students in an autism program.
  • Strong classroom management and munication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Location: Bridgeport, CT

Duration: Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
