Position Overview:

This position will lead a team of Jobs for North Carolina’s Graduates (JNCG) College/Career Specialists ensure the quality implementation of the JAG Model and work towards achieving positive student outcomes at assigned Communities In Schools Services Group, LLC (CISSG) locations. They are responsible for the supervision, direction and management of all day-to-day operations, including administering and tracking budgets. They will be in charge of building relationships and partnerships with the communities, schools, principals and staff, and funders with guidance and support of the JNCG State Director.

Essential Functions:

  • With the State Director of JNCG, guide strategy for supporting JNCG College/Career Specialists and students.
  • Recruit, supervise, and support team of College/Career Specialists.
  • Onboard and train new College/Career Specialists, ensuring successful completion of 30-60-90 day plan.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the CISNC Annual Plan as it pertains to JNCG services.
  • Using the JNCG Observation Tool, provides direction, coaching, and support to staff to deliver high quality JNCG programming.
  • Coordinate successful implementation of the JAG Model.
  • Supports the Lead College/Career Specialists to ensure program effectiveness, consistent delivery of services, and achievement of expected student program outcomes. The successful completion will lead to milestone completion and help meet grant funding deliverables.
  • Develop strong partnerships with school and district leaders where services are being delivered.
  • Work with local Workforce Boards and Chambers of Commerce to support the JNCG program.
  • Support College/Career Specialists as they collaborate with school staff to access data, identify and prioritize student needs.
  • Develop strategic and diverse community partnerships designed to identify resources to enhance the services provided to JNCG students, as needed.
  • Manage, where applicable, and participate in the implementation of fundraising plans to secure adequate funding.
  • Coordinate and manage deliverables for all grants/funding, including Pre-ETS.
  • Participate in personal and professional development, including all Program Director calls and retreats, and other trainings as identified by the State Director.
  • Assist in planning the Career Development Conference
  • Assist in interviewing students for JAG National Events.
  • Perform other duties necessary for the successful operation of programs as assigned.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak to a variety of audiences, and travel across the State of North Carolina, as needed.
  • Expected travel an average of 50%.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, education, social services or related field is required. Master of Arts in education, social services or related field is strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of applicable work experience in the education field
  • Sensitivity to and strong concern for the needs of children, youth and their families
  • Experience in not-for-profit management preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Technologically proficient in all office technology systems including developing spread sheets, word processing, email/calendar, conferencing/webinar platforms.
