Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years deaf & hard of hearing experience required.

An educational opportunity is available for qualified Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teachers to support high school and middle school students in Hampshire, IL. This is a full-time, onsite contract position for the upcoming school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities related to DHH education.

Position Details:

  • Position 1: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), serving a high school population with a small caseload within the DHH program.
  • Position 2: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), serving a middle school population at a single site within the DHH program.
  • Both positions require onsite attendance in Hampshire, IL.
  • Contract duration: Next School Year (NSY).

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Experience working with DHH students at the middle or high school level.
  • Strong understanding of specialized instructional methodologies and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
