Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years deaf & hard of hearing experience required.
An educational opportunity is available for qualified Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teachers to support high school and middle school students in Hampshire, IL. This is a full-time, onsite contract position for the upcoming school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities related to DHH education.
Position Details:
- Position 1: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), serving a high school population with a small caseload within the DHH program.
- Position 2: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), serving a middle school population at a single site within the DHH program.
- Both positions require onsite attendance in Hampshire, IL.
- Contract duration: Next School Year (NSY).
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with DHH students at the middle or high school level.
- Strong understanding of specialized instructional methodologies and assistive technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
