Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required.
Two full-time teaching positions are available for educators specializing in serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a high school and middle school environment. Both roles require onsite presence and offer the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload of students in dedicated DHH programs.
Position 1:
- Location: High school setting
- Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week
- Responsibility: Serve a small caseload focused solely on high school students
- Provide direct onsite support to students and collaborate with school staff
Position 2:
- Location: Middle school setting (single site)
- Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week
- Responsibility: Educate and support middle school students within the DHH program
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education, as applicable
- Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to students needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to support onsite program effectiveness
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of DHH students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster academic and social growth
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports for each student
- Participate actively in program planning and development to enhance service delivery
