Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is seeking a caring, cooperative, and motivated K-2 Resource Teacher. This teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to lead children in growing and developing socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually. The Resource Teacher will need strong communicative, collaborative, and organizational skills as well as a desire to actively contribute to a mission-driven school culture.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years minimum experience working with children ages 5-9
• Being on your feet 80-90% of the time
• Going up and down multiple flights of stairs daily
• Be a fully initiated and active Catholic who teaches and acts in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Fingerprints and background checks in compliance with archdiocesan requirements
• Safe Environment Training (can be earned after hire)

Preferences:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Models the Catholic faith for students in daily practices and interpersonal interactions
• Creates and maintains a safe, clean learning environment for all children in his/her care
• Collaborates with the classroom teacher, other teachers on their team, other paraprofessionals, and parents in planning and implementing class activities, field trips, parties, and service projects. Provide breaks and coverage to assigned staff members.
• Exhibits a genuine nurturing and caring attitude towards all children
• Executes developmentally appropriate lesson plans that meet archdiocesan standards under the guidance of the classroom teacher
• Implements and utilizes disciplinary strategies aligned with the school’s mission and the school’s protocols (training provided)
• Maintains a positive calm attitude with a soft voice and encourages this attitude and voice in others working in the classroom
• Communicates effectively and charitably with families, teachers, and staff
• Attends all required staff trainings and meetings
• Maintains professional credentials and complies with all school, state, and federal requirements and regulations
• Follows established confidentiality, safety, and emergency procedures
