Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years deaf & hard of hearing experience required.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 educational setting in Ashland, WI. This contract position covers the full school year and focuses on delivering tailored instruction that meets the unique communication and learning needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
• Utilize various teaching methods and communication techniques such as sign language, lip reading, and speech therapy to support student learning.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed.
• Provide resources and training to staff and parents on best practices for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or related specialized training.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong knowledge of sign language and assistive communication technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs.
