What You'll Do:

  • Use your personal recovery story to build meaningful, trust-based relationships with individuals in treatment.
  • Facilitate peer-led groups focused on topics like wellness, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and empowerment.
  • Provide one-on-one peer mentoring to help individuals set goals, access services, and build confidence.
  • Help patients develop personalized recovery plans, including WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plans).
  • Connect individuals to vital community resources such as housing, employment, support groups, and transportation.
  • Participate as a valued voice in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Promote a culture of hope, dignity, and self-determination.

What You Bring:

  • Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery, with at least 1 year of sustained recovery.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (or willingness to become certified).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Deep empathy, active listening skills, and the ability to support others without judgment.
  • Commitment to ethical peer support standards and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Familiarity with recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and cultural humility.
  • Comfort facilitating groups and working independently within a team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience navigating systems like Medicaid, disability benefits, housing services, or community-based recovery networks.
  • Basic understanding of electronic documentation and case note recording.
  • Awareness of crisis support services and ability to provide appropriate referrals.

Why Join Us?

  • Be a respected member of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Use your personal experience to make a real, lasting impact on others.
  • Receive ongoing training, support, and professional development.
  • Contribute to a workplace that values authenticity, inclusivity, and lived experience.
