Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Director/Coach to lead and mentor our teaching team! This role focuses on staff training, onboarding, and professional development, while also assisting with administrative tasks (Procare, email, Canva) and ensuring compliance with Texas Minimum Standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, excellent educator, and highly organized administrator.
📅 Schedule: 4-day work week (Monday-Friday, with one weekday off)
⏰ Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
👥 Team: Leading supporting approximately 15 teachers
Duties
Job ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Director/Coach, you will:
- Staff Development Training: Lead onboarding for new teachers, provide ongoing coaching and professional development, and support staff in meeting educational and licensing requirements.
- Classroom Excellence: Serve as a model teacher, stepping into classrooms when needed to support and mentor staff in best teaching practices.
- Administrative Support: Assist with center management tasks, including using Procare for enrollment and staff management, communicating via email, and designing training materials in Canva.
- Compliance Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to Texas Minimum Standards for childcare centers, conduct staff training on compliance, and maintain high-quality learning environments.
- Team Leadership: Motivate and lead a team of approximately 15 teachers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
- Parent Community Engagement: Assist in maintaining strong parent relationships and ensuring a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
Requirements
Qualifications Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting.
- Strong administrative skills, including experience with Procare, email communication, and Canva.
- Extensive knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers.
- Passionate educator with experience in teaching and coaching early childhood educators.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, mentor, and lead a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
