An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an educational setting located in Joliet, IL. This role is a contract position for the full school year (NSY), offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on student development within a structured environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
- Experience working with elementary-aged students requiring special education services
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong munication skills for collaboration with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of disabilities and appropriate instructional strategies
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for supporting diverse learners
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students individual needs as outlined in their IEPs
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Maintain documentation and pliance with state and federal special education regulations
- municate regularly with families to provide updates and engage them in the educational process
- Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings as required
