Job DescriptionSalary: $40000 - $69,000

The School Climate Associate is responsible for performing such duties as, monitoring students during school wide activities, lunchroom, fire drills, etc. To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Associates Degree or higher
  2. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in school setting
  3. Demonstrate ability and temperament to work with confidential information.
  4. Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with all staff, parents, students


The ideal candidate must have the love desire to work with our youth, to support and guide them. Qualified candidate will be required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to talk and hear; Occasionally sit, mostly be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch; Have specific vision abilities, to include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus; Have the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; and possess effective communication, judgmental, planning and human relations skills, and will be required to occasionally work in inclement weather.


Responsibilities:

This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the school. The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the supervisor.


  • Support the health and safety of all students
  • Assist in monitoring and developing programming for school wide lunch & recess
  • Assist with fire drills and Shelter in Place programs
  • Monitor students in the school yard, cafeteria, hallways, as they go to their lockers and their arrival and departure from the school
  • Float between floors as needed for support and safety
  • Assist with late logs and late room
  • Monitor students from the classroom to the bus stop at dismissal
  • Implement school policy on discipline
  • Keep accurate records of incidents
  • Communicate with administration and parents in a timely fashion
  • Familiarize themselves with the Student Code of Conduct
  • Support teachers in implementing the student code of conduct
