Southside Community School currently seeking elementary school teachers for grades 2-4!

Southside Community School is a dynamic charter school located in southern Tucson, providing a supportive and challenging environment for students in daycare through 8th grade. As a Title I school, we are dedicated to empowering our community by providing a high-quality education to students who need it most. We offer free breakfast, lunch, and snacks, along with free daycare and all-day kindergarten. Our after-school program is also available until 5:00 P.M.

Job Duties Include:

  • Designing, planning, and implementing engaging lesson plans in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
  • Assessing and responding to student performance through both formal and informal assessments.
  • Managing and maintaining an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment.
  • Actively participating in team collaboration and professional development activities.
  • Tracking and maintaining accurate classroom attendance.
  • Contributing to decision-making about student promotion and retention in partnership with administration and the governing board.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Classroom experience preferred but not required.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • A passion for innovative problem-solving and creative teaching.
  • AZDPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • AEPA Elementary Education Subtests I and II.
  • SEI Endorsement.

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Day shift, with after-school commitments
