JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for overseeing and managing the clinical education programs with Quick Visit Urgent Care. This role will involve development of orientation processes for all providers and clinical staff. Developing, implementing and evaluating clinical education curricula, coordination of clinical placements, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. Develop preceptor program and training for preceptors for all clinical positions. The Director of Clinical Education works autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver urgent and primary care services to patients of all ages. Offers a wide range of healthcare services that revolve around the family unit - from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan of the patient. Dedicated to improving the delivery and quality of healthcare to patients, while being part of a medical community and operating under the instructions and policies of QuickVisit. Provides patient-focused care by being accessible, flexible, knowledgeable, and responsive. Fosters positive work environment and supports other team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Program Development and Management:
  1. Develop, implement and evaluate onboarding training and checkoffs of all clinical staff
  2. Ensure clinical documentation process and training in EMR
  3. Ensure that clinical education programs meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Evaluate education deficits within staff to include didactic and skill needs
  5. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of clinical placements of students
  6. Develop and maintain relationship with clinic staff
  7. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of clinical education programs through feedback, chart audits, evaluations and outcome measures.
  • Leadership and Supervision:
  1. Provide leadership and support to clinical preceptors and instructors
  2. Mentor and train new clinical instructors and staff
  3. Ensure that faculty and staff are informed of current best practices in clinical education
  4. Participate in recruitment, retention, and development initiatives
  • Clinical Staff Support and Evaluation:
  1. Assist staff in meeting clinical education requirements
  2. Evaluate staff performance in clinical settings and provide feedback and guidance to ensure professional development
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing staff progress and remediation in clinical skills and education
  • Continuous Improvement:
  1. Stay current with trends and best practices in clinical education and healthcare
  2. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance educational program and improvement of patient care.
  • Patient Care and Clinical Skills:
  1. Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease
  2. Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits
  3. Understanding the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process
  4. Performing diagnostic tests and screening evaluations
  5. Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues
  6. Emphasizing preventative care and disease management
  7. Orders evidence-based testing, prescribes medications and refers to outside specialist as needed
  8. Provides occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and the treatment of Worker’s Compensation injuries
  9. Performs pre-participation physicals for camps, sports and employment
  10. Utilizes telemedicine platform to evaluate and treat patients off-site in addition to providing in person care
  11. Maintains detailed reports and patient charts accurately and comprehensively
  12. Protects patients and other employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  13. Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; and participating in team problem-solving methods.
  14. Utilizes leadership skills through delegation to, communicate with, and evaluate team members.
  15. Recognizes changes in status of the patient and provides appropriate intervention and documentation. Prioritizes care based on individual patient needs.
  16. Attends monthly staff meetings
  17. Communicates identified clinic problems following appropriate chain of command (Provider Lead/Director of Clinical Operations and Chief Medical Officer), and actively participates in the problem-solving process.
  18. Demonstrates knowledge of and supports QuickVisit’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and standards of behavior.
  19. Able to work independently and serve as a leader for the team
  20. Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills
  21. Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • Clinical Training in Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Qualified to diagnosis and treat complex health conditions of the body and mind
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree as a nurse practitioner
  • Valid state license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DOT license or ability to obtain
  • Valid DOT Drug Test Collector and Collector Trainer certification or ability to obtain
  • Must be in good standing with no restrictions to practice in the state
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Mandatory Reporter
  • Experience in clinical education and leadership roles
  • Strong Leadership and organization skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
