We are seeking a High School Biology Teacher to join our team! You will educate students in Biology at Patterson High School in Baltimore City.
Responsibilities:
- Grow under the guidance of the Literacy Coach, Department Lead, and Department Administrator
- Manage and educate students in a classroom setting
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
- Adhere to established teaching curriculum
- Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Document and share student grades and evaluations
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields is desired but not essential
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities

We have students and staff who come from over 27 different countries with many different languages spoken throughout the school. We also have an amazing Career Technology Education program that prepares students for the workforce with 14 different pathway options. Students can graduate high school with certification in their field of choice. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of electives, advanced programs and extracurricular activities. We offer concert band, drama, an array of AP classes including an AP Capstone Diploma. Our athletic program includes many 25+ sports teams in which we have won various recognitions including state championships. In the 2021-2022 school year we inaugurated our gorgeous 21st century brand new building with access to a variety of technology and a focus on blended learning in and outside of the classroom.
