A K-12 educational institution in Warren, MI is seeking a full-time School Psychologist for a full semester contract. This role offers the opportunity to work directly onsite with a diverse student caseload, helping to support the academic, emotional, and behavioral needs of students across all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for K-12 students.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
- Provide consultation on student behavior, learning challenges, and social-emotional development.
- Manage paperwork, planning, and other indirect work, with dedicated time allocated during the 35-hour workweek.
- Ensure compliance with Michigan-specific laws and regulations, including MARSE guidelines.
- Apply strategies for evaluating English Language Learners (ELL) and engage in collaborative problem-solving with diverse teams.
Qualifications:
- Current active Michigan School Psychologist license or willingness to obtain licensure promptly.
- Familiarity with Michigan-specific educational laws and regulations, specifically MARSE.
- Experience working with K-12 student populations in school settings.
- Knowledge of evaluation techniques tailored for ELL students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate records and managing a panel of cases efficiently.
