Job Title: Staff Educator – Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area
Salary: Starting at $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Educator – RN to support clinical staff development across a senior living and long-term care organization. Rockville, Woodbridge, NW Washington, DC Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Staff Educator will design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive clinical education and onboarding programs for nursing and support staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring quality standards, regulatory compliance, and professional growth across care teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver orientation, compliance training, and competency programs for all clinical roles, including RN, LPN, CNA, GNA, and others.
- Assess staff learning needs and tailor education plans to promote skill development and improve care delivery.
- Coordinate and maintain compliance with online training platforms (e.g., Relias™).
- Design and lead a CNA preceptor program and build relationships with CNA and LPN schools to support clinical placements and recruitment.
- Collaborate with recruitment teams on educational partnerships and student engagement.
- Act as a mentor and coach to staff, providing constructive feedback, support, and performance evaluations.
- Stay current with regulatory updates, clinical best practices, and industry standards.
- Support retention efforts through engaging learning experiences and career development opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical training or staff education experience, ideally in long-term care or senior living settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate, influence, and educate across diverse teams.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and online learning systems (Relias™ preferred).
