Summary
Little Wonders is currently seeking dependable and mature professionals for part-time afternoon and substitute assistant teacher positions. Ideal candidates must have flexibility, patience, passion for working with young children and a love of nature and the outdoors. These positions are perfect for college students, retired teachers and those looking for a part-time work schedule with flexibility of classroom coverage and shifts.
Duties
*Assist teacher in planning and implementing daily indoor and outdoor activities
*Help create nurturing, safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environments for children
*Assist with cleaning duties as needed during and at the end of the day
*Diapering and toilet training as needed
*Engage with children in activities and learning
*Supervise and monitor children to ensure safety and well-being both indoor and outdoors
*Assist children with daily routines
*Communicate with parents as needed
*Maintain cleanliness in classroom and outdoor areas
*Maintain records and paperwork as needed
Requirements
*High School diploma or equivalent
*Previous experience working in a formal child care setting
*Childcare assistants must be available Monday - Friday
*Substitutes will be scheduled as needed but must indicate preference of AM or PM availability
*Effective communication skills to interact with children, parents and staff
*Understanding of child development and familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines
*Ability to handle the physical demands of working with young children including lifting, bending and kneeling
Nice To Haves
*Child Development Associate Certification
*Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Education or related field

About Us
Little Wonders Childcare Learning Center is a Grow NJ Kids rated center located in scenic Warren County, New Jersey. Our certified and experienced teachers provide a quality childcare program for students ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Following a state approved curriculum that is aligned with both New Jersey Birth to Three Early Leaning Standards and The New Jersey Department of Education's Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, our staff provides students with opportunities to grow and explore across multiple domains of learning and development.
