About the Role:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of intermediate-level students. You will collaborate with a team of committed professionals to evaluate student progress, create supportive learning environments, and communicate effectively with families to ensure every student thrives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement daily lesson plans that address individual student needs
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and timely reports
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to identify and address student challenges
- Maintain open, positive communication with parents, administrators, and colleagues
- Uphold a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
- Stay current with professional development to enhance teaching skills
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of certification and employment
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey State Certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (#2475 with Endorsement #1001) or Teacher of Handicap (#2470) or Elementary K-5 certification
- Successful completion of New Jersey Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting
- Compliance with New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees
