We are a large Group Childcare Center in Milwaukee (NW) looking for Teachers (partime and fulltime). The Lead Teacher is responsible for his/her classroom and all aspects of ensuring that each child is nurtured, educated and provided the highest quality of early care. The Assistant Teacher will help the Lead make sure all children are cared for appropriately.

You must be a leader, self-starter, confident and the ability to manage others with a strong problem-solving skill.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Lead Teacher

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities that support the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and volunteers, ensuring they adhere to classroom routines and teaching standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and development, including conducting parent-teacher conferences.
  • Perform ongoing assessments of children’s performance and development, adjusting educational strategies and techniques as needed.
  • Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and resources, including preparing and requesting materials necessary for daily activities and special projects.
  • Coordinate and lead special events, field trips, and activities that enhance the learning experience and engage the community.
  • Address and report any signs of emotional or developmental problems in children, working closely with parents and specialists to implement support strategies.

Must be a Leader

Must be a problem solver.

Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills with children and adults alike.

Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills in order to communicate with parents, staff, and children.

Must have strong leadership skills to inspire respect from young children.

Knowledgeable about the latest trends and techniques in education and child-rearing, including discipline, encouragement, and communication.

Familiarity with theories and practices of behavioral therapy, child development, and parent-child relationships.

Must have an appropriate code of ethics for working with young children.

Must be flexible and able to react appropriately to changing circumstances.

Must have strong crisis management abilities and be able to maintain a cool composure in times of crisis.

Must possess excellent customer service.

Must be professional and provide a public face for the childcare facility.

Education and Experience

WI Registry Level of 7 or higher.

Must have all CPR and First Aid certifications.

Experience working with children in a teaching position or administering childcare.

Must pass a fingerprinted background check

Shifts Available (Full-Time 9am to 6pm 8am to 5pm) (Part-Time 8am to 1pm or Noon to 6pm) (7am to 11am) or (2pm to 6pm)
