We're seeking a Safety & Hygiene Supervisor to oversee sanitation practices, food safety compliance, and hygiene protocols across production areas. This role plays a critical part in supporting both regulatory requirements and continuous improvement in hygiene and safety procedures. If you have experience in food manufacturing environments, strong leadership skills, and a working knowledge of sanitation standards and scheduling, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient production operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily hygiene and sanitation operations, ensuring all processes meet internal and regulatory food safety standards
- Monitor and support sanitation crews and hygiene personnel, providing coaching, training, and scheduling
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure cleaning and sanitation schedules align with production needs
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies
- Lead hygiene-related continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing best practices
- Maintain and update documentation related to hygiene protocols, chemical usage, and cleaning procedures
- Collaborate with quality assurance and operations leadership to resolve issues and maintain audit readiness
- Assist in investigations of food safety incidents and support corrective actions as needed
Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience in food manufacturing sanitation or hygiene required
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and sanitation standards
- Understanding of production scheduling and ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills for leading teams and maintaining documentation
- BS degree preferred in Food Science, Biology, Environmental Health, or a related field
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and respond quickly to operational needs
