Lead educational innovation as a Virtual TVI! We're seeking an innovative professional to provide prehensive visual impairment education services to students with diverse visual needs throughout Nevada's educational systems.
Position Summary
This remote role focuses on delivering high-quality visual impairment education through advanced virtual platforms. You'll support students across all educational levels while providing essential specialized instruction through innovative technology solutions.
Professional Duties
- Specialized instruction in pensatory academic skills
- Functional vision assessment and evaluation
- Braille reading and writing instruction
- Assistive technology implementation and training
- Orientation and mobility skill development
- Educational material adaptation and modification
- IEP development and progress monitoring
- Professional collaboration and consultation services
Student Service Areas
Provide specialized instruction to students experiencing visual impairments including total blindness, partial vision, and multiple disabilities with visual impairment. Services include early intervention support, academic instruction, and prehensive transition planning.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field
- Active Nevada Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification
- Minimum 2 years of specialized visual impairment instruction experience
- Strong braille and assistive technology petencies
- Virtual service delivery capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and professional munication skills
