Position Overview:
The School Counselor plays a key role in the academic, personal, social, and career development of students. This is more than scheduling classesits about helping students navigate challenges, set goals, build confidence, and discover their unique paths. Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, emotional, social, and behavioral needs

Develop and implement school-wide programs on topics like bullying prevention, college and career readiness, and mental health awareness

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to support student success

Guide students through course selection, graduation planning, and post-secondary options
-
Respond to crises and provide support during emergencies or student mental health concerns

Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with district and state policies

Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
Qualifications:

Masters degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution

Valid Ohio Department of Education School Counselor License
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Experience working in diverse school settings preferred
-
Commitment to equity, student advocacy, and trauma-informed practices
-
Bilingual abilities are a plus
