Job Description

Title: Part-time Children's Italian Language Instructor If you enjoy working with elementary school-aged students (5-12 years) and if you are a fluent Italian language speaker with a passion for Italian culture, we encourage you to consider this teaching position.

Casa Italia Inc. (located in Stone Park, Illinois) is currently seeking qualified, creative and enthusiastic part-time educators for children’s Italian language classes held in various Chicagoland suburbs.

Each educator will teach 2-3 classes weekly (ranging in duration from 60-90 minutes each) on Saturday mornings beginning in September 2025 and ending in May 2026 (30 classes total per school year).

Minimum Qualifications:

 College degree and/or relevant teaching experience in the Italian language

 Near-native fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in the Italian language

 Great organizational skills

 Available to work weekends

 Proficient with email and Microsoft Office applications

Job Description:

 Lead as an effective classroom facilitator who enjoys teaching in a student-centered environment

 Complete and implement lesson plans

 Provide differentiated instruction to children of different abilities and and language proficiency

 Work with kids and communicate with parents/guardians in a friendly and approachable manner

 Collaborate with colleagues in order to provide consistent, high quality instruction

 Contribute to Casa Italia’s community through participation in staff meetings and special events throughout the school year (e.g., annual holiday program)

 Provide instruction on the culture of Italy

PLEASE NOTE:  Casa Italia Inc. offers part-time positions only.There is no full-time availability. The educator’s assignment is conditional on sufficient student enrollment.

 The base salary will start at $33 per hour and will be commensurate with the experience of the applicant.
