Position Summary: As a Teacher at Amigos Por Vida Friends for Life Charter School, you will be instrumental in planning and teaching a bilingual program of study that aligns with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and district mandates. You will create a risk-free, supportive, and inviting learning environment, catering to the developmental level and interests of students.
Qualifications:
- Must meet the Texas certification standards (State Board for Educator Certification) in Bilingual Education (Sp) for grades PK-5.
- Fluency in English is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a program of study in accordance with TEA, district mandates, and curricula.
- Create a warm and inviting learning environment that supports the diverse student population, primarily Hispanic.
- Assess students' progress and needs, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback and progress reports in adherence to building and district guidelines.
- Implement appropriate intervention methods, techniques, and strategies for students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with building and district leadership when necessary.
- Implement instructional, linguistic, and/or modifications and accommodations per Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD) and/or LPAC decisions.
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators, following building and district guidelines.
- Establish and maintain an effective discipline management system in alignment with school policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Participate in meetings and provide necessary documentation for students regarding admissions, reviews, progress, grades, dismissals, conferences, etc.
- Engage in continuous professional development to meet building, district, and federal requirements.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance rate as per school policy.
Working Conditions:
All our campuses provide temperature-controlled environments with hard surface floors. Both positions require physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
