A contract Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, serving K-12 students with mild to moderate disabilities. This onsite role requires dedication to providing individualized support within a traditional school setting.
Location:
- Primary assignment in Mount Pleasant with potential placements in Charleston, James Island, or surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver general special education instruction and services to students across grades K-12.
- Manage an average-sized caseload, adapting teaching strategies to support varied learning needs.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to district guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
- Valid South Carolina teaching license.
- Certification in Learning Disabilities (LD) or multi-categorical special education.
- Relevant experience working with mild to moderate disability populations preferred.
- Commitment to working onsite for 40 hours per week during the school year.
