Position Type: Part-time, adjunct
Semester: Fall 2025 (August 25-December 13, 2025)
Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)
Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach one or more chemistry courses, including CHEM 103C: General Chemistry I, CHEM 104C: General Chemistry II, and CHEM 105C: Chemistry.
Course Details:
- CHEM 103C General Chemistry I, Tuesdays 8-11:20 a.m. and Thursdays 8-9:20 a.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- CHEM 104C General Chemistry II, Tuesdays 8-11:20 a.m. and Thursdays 8-9:20 a.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- CHEM 105C Chemistry, Tuesdays 10:30-11:50 a.m. and Fridays 10-3:20 p.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- Other courses and times may be available.
Program Description:
NHTI's Natural Sciences Department offers a variety of chemistry courses that support all degree programs from the college’s biology degree program that provides students with an excellent foundation for studies in pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, and pre-veterinary medicine to the Allied Health fields and Liberal Arts, fulfilling both core requirements and science electives for the college’s students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
- Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in science (or a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits) required.
- Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred.
- Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
