Job Title: Lunch Aide

Organization: Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish

Location: 979 Behrman Hwy, Terrytown, LA 70056

Reports To: Dean

Hiring Status: At-Will

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

FTE: 0.50, 20 hours / week

Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Reporting Days: 190, 10 months

Compensation: Hourly

Starting Pay: $13-$16 / hr., DOE;

Start Date: July 28th

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:  High School

Experience:  Education experience preferred

Background: Clear FBI background check

Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English, Spanish fluency preferred

Job Duties

Aide

  • Supervises the orderly gathering and flow of students through the cafeteria during lunch service and/or during lunch recess.
  • Ensures behavior management of students during lunch service and/or during lunch recess.
  • Ensures student safety and well-being.
  • Communicates proper lunchroom or playground rules to students.
  • Communicates with teachers regarding student behavior challenges.
  • Builds meaningful relationships with students
  • Assists students in exhibiting the Athlos Performance Character traits and upholding the mission and vision of Athlos at all times.

  • Consistently implements school-wide management policies. 
  • Creates a positive learning environment by following classroom rules, systems, and procedures.

  • Must be able to spend much of the day standing or mobile throughout the school and playground.

  • Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment.
  • Ability to handle potentially high stress conditions.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions outdoors.
