An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary school students in Wilmington, DE on a contract basis for the current school year. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs within an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students abilities and goals
- Adapt lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and challenges
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes
- Foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for students with disabilities
- Utilize assessment tools to evaluate student performance and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education setting
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education services
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff
- Patience, empathy, and dedication to helping students reach their full potential
