Mission

The mission of the Beta Academy Principal’s Administrative Assistant is to support the Principal lead their team in establishing a world-class school through a culture of joyful rigor and develop scholars and leaders who can contribute on a community, national, and international level.

Outcomes

1. Meet Academic Goals

Rated Campus

  • A Rating by TEA
  • Score an 80% or higher on each State Category connected to Texas Education Agency (TEA) school rating. scholar Achievement, Closing Achievement Gaps, and School Progress.

Non Rated Campus

  • 60% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests
  • 25% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests

2. Meet School Culture Goals

  • 100% of PK-3 teachers award a minimum of 1 Sunshine Note a month per scholar
  • 100% of 2-5 teachers score a minimum of Proficient on the Teacher Observation Rubric section 2.1 for joyful teaching and awarding Beta Bucks
  • 90% “meets standard” or higher on the school culture survey and staff feedback surveys.

3. Meet Student Attendance Goal

  • 98% Average Daily Attendance

4. Meet Enrollment Goal

  • K-12 minimum of 25 scholars per class
  • PK minimum of 22 scholars per class
  • 90% Scholar Persistence (measured on 10th day of school)

5. Meet Customer Service Goals for First Aid Station

  • 100% of clinic visits are logged and followed up with a phone call to parents
  • 2 cards minimum sent per week to families
  • 1 “5 Star” Google Review earn a minimum per month
  • 100% of guest concerns are successfully resolved and receive a follow up call.
  • 100% of the time, Rainbow Service Guidelines are implemented

6. Support Principal with Campus Operations

  • Respond to principal’s correspondence, including answering incoming phone calls, emails & letters within 24hrs of being received
  • Plan, prepare, and update principal’s calendar daily
  • Ensure 100% of teacher absences are covered by a guest teacher or a staff member
  • Maintain inventory and order materials, supplies, and equipment weekly

Job Responsibilities

1. Mission, Vision, and Core Values

  • Ensures vision and mission drive school decisions

2. Assists Principal in Leading and Managing Systems and Operations

  • Conducts regular school culture walkthroughs to help staff maintain a high bar of excellence
  • Implements and monitors outcomes of school improvement plan and scholar achievement data to improve scholar learning
  • Supervises school entry, breakfast, lunch, dismissal, and transitions to ensure they are orderly and positive
  • Maintains a safe, clean, orderly and joyful learning environment for both scholars and staff
  • Collaborates with staff to achieve school improvement plan targets
  • Utilizes current technologies to support leadership and management functions
  • Aligns resources to improve teaching and learning
  • Ensures that proper equipment, furniture, and fixtures are provided to support scholar learning and teacher effectiveness
  • Recognizes problems and impediments and assists with constructive resolutions
  • Acts as the campus custodian of records for student, scholastic, business, financial, personnel, securities, titles, certifications, etc.
  • Monitors attendance, grades/report cards, and scheduling
  • Schedule events and plan logistics for meetings
  • Arrange coverage for teachers on PTO, including but not limited to scheduling substitute teachers outside of business hours and covering a class until a substitute teacher is available.
  • Will serve as backup coverage for the school nurse or front office when necessary

3. Assists Principal with Scholar Enrollment

  • Monitors enrollment at school site and works with the school registrar, secretaries, teachers, and staff to meet enrollment targets
  • Schedules and hosts parent interest meetings (weekly until enrollment goal is met)
  • Ensures enrollment and capacity expectations are met
  • Ensures campus maintains > 97% daily attendance through continuous monitoring and communication with leaders and teachers

4. Assists Principal Improving Teaching and Learning

  • Ensures an A campus rating from TEA
  • Works with and engages staff in shared vision for effective teaching by learning and implementing Beta instructional methods and curriculum.
  • Holds high expectations for scholar learning
  • Ensures every scholar has an excellent teacher committed to their success
  • Sets clear, consistent standards for academic achievement and establishes a school-wide focus on preparing all students for college
  • Implements curriculum scope and sequence
  • Uses disaggregated data to coach teachers
  • Selects and retains teachers that maximize scholars’ learning
  • Ensures high standards of educational achievement for staff and scholars
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of teaching and holds teachers accountable for meeting their goals

  • Ensures staff know and understand and follow all Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) as applicable to positions and departments
  • Understands and ensures strict adherence to TEA’s Student Attendance Accountability Handbook (SAAH) and Beta’s Student Attendance Procedure Manual.
  • Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders: parents, scholars, staff, neighbors, and partners
  • Promotes and maintains a positive and effective school climate by ensuring that all interactions with staff, scholars, parents, and the public at large are prompt, efficient, helpful and friendly
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal

Reports To

The Principal’s Administrative Assistant reports to the Principal.

Supervision

The Principal will directly supervise all campus staff not reporting to district leaders.

Employment Terms

Full Time/ Salary- $40,000-50,000 / On-Site
