Summary
Our Montessori School is seeking passionate and dedicated Assistants and Aides, to join our close-knit team. We are a small private school that values child-centric education, guided by the principles and philosophy of Maria Montessori. We aim to provide a hands-on learning environment that offers memorable experiences for children aged 3 to 12 years old.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children.
- Follow Montessori teachings and principles in daily activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members.
- Be flexible with daily schedules
- Part-time: Monday through Friday 1 PM to 6 PM or Specific days 10AM to 6PM
- Contract August 1 to May 24
Duties
- Implementing an age-appropriate, engaging, and consistent daily activity aligned with the Montessori philosophy
- Maintain a consistent routine, organized supplies, and clean environment
- Engage and Assist in whole groups, small groups, or individually during classroom learning experiences
- Assist with classroom responsibilities such as making copies, replenishing materials, and maintaining classroom supplies
- Monitor and/or maintain classroom guidelines
- Participate in pre-planning and in-service days
- Supervise and assist students during transitions such as arrival and dismissal
- Attend or supervise students during Parent Teacher conferences, school events, and community gatherings as needed
- Model grace and courtesy at all times and support children in doing the same
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, colleagues, and families
Requirements
- Must love working with children aged 3 to 12 years old.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday without exceptions.
- Must be flexible and team player
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check level 2.
- Audible voice and adequate hearing and vision are required to communicate effectively and supervise the children.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time, including bending, stooping and crouching to interact with young children.
