A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year, serving students in grades K-12. This contract role begins on August 25, 2025, and concludes on June 3, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours.
Located in North Minneapolis, this role involves managing a caseload of approximately 36 to 40 students with special education needs. The Special Education Teacher will focus on delivering comprehensive services related to speech support for these students. Collaboration is key, as support is provided by paraprofessionals and fellow special education teachers, creating a team environment dedicated to student success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's speech and communication needs
- Conducting assessments and tracking student progress
- Providing direct speech support and related services within the classroom and other settings
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Communicating regularly with families and guardians to update on student progress and engage them in educational planning
- Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with special education regulations and policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in speech-related special education services
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
