This opportunity seeks experienced educators certified as Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students in a dynamic school setting. Located in Morgantown, KY, this role is a full academic year (NSY) contract offering valuable experience working with visually impaired learners across elementary through high school levels.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky TVI License required
- Experience serving K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies tailored for visually impaired students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including parents, teachers, and therapists
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) specifically designed for students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods accordingly
- Provide direct instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and other necessary skills
- Facilitate communication among students, families, and school personnel to ensure progress and inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
