Substitute Teachers Position

Teachers now are looking for highly motivated Substitute Teachers in Kansas City, Missouri. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to step into a classroom and provide essential support to the teacher, ensuring continuity and a positive learning experience in the absence of the regular paraprofessional or instructional aide.

Pay/ compensation (Kansas City, Missouri: $110-$130 /Day (Based on Education/Certification)

A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher

As a Substitute Teacher, you’ll enjoy a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, with availability required between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Half-day shifts are also available (7:00 AM–12:00 PM or 12:00 PM–4:00 PM).

Your day may include:

• Delivering instruction by implementing lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring a smooth and consistent learning experience for students.

• Managing the classroom environment to promote student engagement, minimize disruptions, and maintain a positive atmosphere.

• Adjusting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.

• Supervising students during class, in hallways, on the playground, and in the cafeteria to ensure their safety and well-being.

• Assigning and overseeing classwork as outlined in the lesson plan.

• For long-term substitute roles, collaborating with department heads or administrators to develop lesson plans aligned with the regular teacher’s curriculum.
  
  

Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

• Previous classroom or childcare experience (preferred)

• Strong classroom management skills and confidence in leading a group of students

• Ability to pass both state and federal background checks
