Engage students in a collaborative and supportive learning environment during the extended school year program at a juvenile detention center. This role focuses on delivering core subjects to a diverse group of learners aged 18-22, fostering both academic and personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Core Subjects Certification
- Strong background in General Education, particularly in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies
- Experience teaching high school students, especially in alternative education settings
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Familiarity with IDEA and related regulations
- Excellent munication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Location:
- Newark, DE
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt curricula in line with state standards for core subjects
- Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports varied learning styles
- Collaborate with special education staff to provide tailored instruction and support services
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure successful outes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation as required
- Facilitate positive relationships with students, staff, and families to promote a supportive learning munity

This position runs from July 1, 2025, to September 3, 2025, serving approximately 15 students, the majority of whom are IDEA eligible and receive various support services.
